The 2024 edition presents a stirring visual metaphor for the more than 2,300,000 who served in Canada’s military throughout its history, including the more than 118,000 who ultimately gave their lives.
The Design:
This heartfelt expression of Remembrance features a symbol of sacrifice that dates back to the First World War and endures today: the red poppy. Its reverse shows the red-petalled flower of Remembrance in various stages of bloom, from the poppy that proudly stands tall as a symbol of those who serve or have served, to the drooping one that pays respect to our fallen—those who are gone, but whose sacrifices will not be forgotten.
