Description
Everest: Goddess of the Sky
Long before Mount Everest became one of the world’s most famous climbing destinations, coins like this Nepalese 1 Paisa circulated through communities and trade routes of the Himalayas.
Issued between approximately 1902 and 1911, this historical coin dates from the era of Nepal’s Rana rulers. The album tells the story of Everest—known locally as Sagarmatha and Chomolungma—and the Sherpa communities whose knowledge of the Himalayas later became essential to modern expeditions.
The set combines a genuine historic Nepal coin with the story of:
Mount Everest • Himalayan Culture • Sherpa History • Exploration • Nepal
A great collectible for coin collectors, travelers, mountaineering enthusiasts and anyone fascinated by the world’s highest mountain.
